Why and How to meditate?

The average person has 1 thought every ten seconds. Oof, that's a lot. It's normal, but sometimes annoying. Our thoughts can be unpleasant, they can control us and sometimes even lead to anxiety.

We unconsciously avoid unpleasant thoughts, but they still control us and sooner or later catch up with us. What to do with this?

There are a lot of myths about meditation, so I decided to debunk them today.

When the topic of meditation comes up, I usually hear:

"I just can't concentrate, I keep having thoughts and my mind is so chaotic, I can't sit still for a minute, it's not for me..."

This is exactly what I thought and that is exactly why we need to practice meditation and train the mind. Just like when we train our body in the gym, we are not initially muscular with the endurance of an athlete.

When I started meditating, it was suffering. I thought I had to remove my thoughts and blamed myself when I couldn't. But it's not about that.

I have not become a Guru, I do not subscribe to any religion, I am still the same person, I just live better and more in harmony with myself.

Not only does meditation have proven health benefits, but thanks to it we can learn greater insight, creativity, and calmness.
